"Everyone knows I have a very similar philosophy to the coach who was here. I like attacking play; I'd rather win 4-3 than 1-0. It's important for Flamengo to win, win, win, but for me, it's also important how I win. In my opinion, it's important to make the fans happy. Playing attacking, beautiful, winning football. That's my philosophy, that's why I'm a coach. I like having the ball and being the protagonist. That's what we have to do when we're at a big club."

"I had several offers in Europe and America. Some people I trust in South America told me about Flamengo's possible interest. I said, 'Anything.' When Flamengo calls you, you can't say no. I don't know if Brazilians realize the respect the club has outside of America. It's highly respected in Europe. When people talk about Brazilian clubs in Spain, the first one that comes to mind is Flamengo. If things go ahead, we'll have a good process with Flamengo; it's my first option. Flamengo is one of the teams in the world that can't be compared."

Game marathon
"We're 100% capable of competing in all competitions. When I worked at Barcelona, ​​Bayern, and City, it was the same. We played three games a week, the same as what will happen with Flamengo. I'm used to playing every two or three days. The first few weeks will be the most important for my coaching staff to see how the players are doing. I didn't come to Brazil on vacation, which I'd like to do, because it's so beautiful.
