Preparation for the duel against Paraná continues at Ninho do Urubu and before training this Thursday (18), coach Dorival Júnior gave an interview in the Victorino Chermont Press Room and spoke about the duel against Paraná, in Curitiba.
"We can't dwell on details like that. We're going to have a match where we'll depend heavily on our own conditions to get the best result. It will be important for the rest of the competition. The top three teams still have to play against Paraná, and we're focused on doing our part. We'll go for the result and try to continue playing the football we've been playing in recent games."
The coach hopes the team can repeat the good performances they had against Corinthians and also in the derby against Fluminense.
"We will approach this with the same seriousness, intensity, and respect. We know that these will be fundamental points for the rest of the competition. We will first focus on doing our part so that we can continue to dream of something."
Dorival also took the opportunity to talk about the final stretch of the Brazilian Championship and the fierce competition for the national title.
"I wouldn't rule out any team at all. They are teams that are directly fighting for the title. I hope Flamengo also lives up to expectations and continues to seek results so that later on we have a better chance of closing the gap with the leading teams. Palmeiras has an advantage at the moment, but I don't rule out any team."
"It's a stage of the competition where every small mistake can cause great damage. Just as we think this way, Palmeiras also knows that it can't afford to make mistakes. Whether we like it or not, it creates discomfort even for the teams fighting below them in the standings. The level of concern and consistency change depending on the team's current form," he added.
