Flamengo unveiled defender Douglas and midfielder Willians this morning at Gávea as the club's new signings for the Campeonato Carioca, Copa do Brasil, Copa Sudamericana, and Campeonato Brasileiro. Both players excelled in Santo André's impressive run in Série B.

On loan for a year from Atlético-PR, 23-year-old defender Douglas said that Flamengo's greatness is something that impresses him.

"I'm really impressed with the club's visibility. Flamengo is one of the biggest clubs in the world. I have to stay calm and work hard to adapt as quickly as possible. I'm excited and eager to play. I'm sure the fans will remember me well. I won't be lacking in enthusiasm."

Douglas praised Flamengo's starting central defense duo in 2008, formed by Fábio Luciano and Ronaldo Angelim.

"They're two very important players who have already earned their place and the fans' trust. I hope to learn a lot from them. I'll work hard to earn my place and be an option for Cuca in the squad. I'm available to help."

At 22 years old, midfielder Willians celebrated the chance to play for the Rio de Janeiro club.

"I'm very happy to sign with Flamengo. It's a great opportunity. I'll dedicate myself completely to meeting the fans' expectations. I run well. The fans will like me. The pressure here is immense, but I'll do my best and hope to please Cuca."
