Flamengo's 123rd anniversary was marked by celebrations and another victory in the Brazilian Championship. The Rubro-Negro team secured a 1-0 win against Santos with a goal from Henrique Dourado. More than 46 fans were present at the Maracanã to support and celebrate.
After the match ended, striker Henrique Dourado commented on the goal and highlighted the contributions of Diego and Berrío in the play that occurred in the 27th minute of the second half.
"It's a great joy. Diego found a beautiful pass and Berrío cleverly crossed the ball into the area, and I had the opportunism to score. It wasn't an easy ball, and we got a good result in a difficult game. The most important thing was the three points."
Henrique Dourado spoke about the importance of all players being well-prepared to take advantage of opportunities when they arise.
"Uribe has been having a very good run of form and has been helping us a lot. Those who are on the sidelines have to come in and take advantage of the opportunity. It was the second time Dorival gave me an opportunity, and the first time I scored a goal after 17 minutes. Now I was able to come in and help. It's complicated when you're out of action for a long time, but the team is always more important than anyone else."
The player who provided the assist for Ceifador, Berrío, also spoke about the goal play and emphasized that the movement involved in the play is practiced daily at Ninho do Urubu.
"It's a play we've been practicing a lot. Diego knows I'm very good at getting behind the defenders, and I waited for him to look up to launch the ball. I knew Dourado would be there, I provided the assist, and we were fortunate to score that goal."
