On Monday morning (17), at Ninho do Urubu, Dr. Márcio Tannure, health and high performance manager, spoke about the return and recovery of athlete Rodrigo Caio.

"Today was Rodrigo Caio's first day here at the training center, where he reported back. As we had already mentioned, Rodrigo underwent arthroscopy on December 7th, and he insisted on bringing a physiotherapist to start working with him during the holidays, so that we could save time. He was undergoing treatment when we detected an infectious process in one of the areas. Following this, Rodrigo returned to Rio de Janeiro, and as soon as he arrived, we admitted him and performed a mechanical-surgical lavage, where we put the patient in the operating room to clean the joint. It's part of the treatment."

"Then intravenous antibiotic therapy was started, which is why he stayed in the hospital. After that, another lavage was performed, a new procedure, to further accelerate his recovery in the surgical center. Rodrigo Caio progressed very well clinically and was discharged last Saturday. Today is the beginning of his recovery, where we are not concerned with the timeframe but rather that he completes the stages. So this first stage is physiotherapy, where we are working on regaining range of motion so that he doesn't lose it. With the techniques we have available at the training center, we will accelerate the recovery, and from there we will begin the gradual return of muscle strengthening, so that he can then move on to transition work on the field and after this whole process he will be training normally with the rest of our squad."
