One of the most experienced players in Flamengo's squad, defender Ronaldo Angelim isn't afraid to take on the role of key player in the Flamengo squad. An idol among the fans and a role model for his teammates, the defender knows his importance to the group and even jokes about the large number of young players he has alongside him on the field.

"I consider myself the most experienced player on defense. Since there are so many young players, you have to try to guide them. Whether you like it or not, you have to organize. I have more experience in football and I try to guide them. It's actually good, you give the orders and they run," joked Angelim.

Happy with the result against Botafogo, scorer of the sixth goal celebrated the fact that Rubro-Negro maintained its ten-year streak without losing to its rival and left Maracanã with another victory against the rival in Brazilian Championships.

"We needed some peace of mind. There's been some turbulence in recent days and we needed a win like this, in a derby, against a team we hadn't beaten yet. It was important. We kept the taboo and even with a very changed team, we got the result," said the player, taking the opportunity to praise the young players who took to the field with great enthusiasm and showed they can honor the Flamengo jersey.

"The trend is to improve when we have reinforcements, but we have to praise the boys who came in and played well. I'm sure they have a great future ahead of them. Football is an opportunity, and they took advantage of their first one," he added.
