The duel between Flamengo and Fluminense last Sunday (September 19.09) had the feel of a Fla vs. Flu. And, for the players, the red-and-black team's attitude was also worthy of the Gávea club's traditions. Defender David and right-back Leonardo Moura emphasized the group's desire to win and bet on this spirit to help the team fight for more victories in the coming rounds.
David believes the fans were pleased with what they saw at Engenhão, even though the team didn't secure a victory. According to him, the match was good, open, and the team played as it should: with passion and forward momentum.
"The team didn't lose. We were able to recover. The good thing was that everyone fought hard, and everyone who was here really enjoyed what they saw. It was a great game. The team played the way they should, and I hope we can maintain this good form in the next games," he analyzed.
Full-back Leonardo Moura even considered the draw with Flu unfair. The Flamengo captain believes Flamengo deserved to win, but he's not giving up and calls for focus on the match against Grêmio.
"I don't think it was fair. I think we played better and had the better chances, but unfortunately, we made mistakes and conceded the equalizer. Thanks to the spirit of the group, which was very good. Now, it's time to think about Wednesday's game," he concluded.
