The 0-0 draw against Atlético-GO, on Wednesday night (10), was special for midfielder Ederson. Out for ten months due to a serious injury, the player returned to the field in the second half and was part of Flamengo's debut in the Copa do Brasil at Maracanã.

"I'm very happy to be back and playing with my teammates. It felt good, I came on and played for just over 20 minutes. Of course, I still need to get more rhythm and play more, have more connection, but that will come naturally. Today I'm very grateful and very happy to be back," said Ederson.

It took more than ten months out of action before his return and his season debut. During the warm-up, the fans in the stands at Maracanã chanted Ederson's name, and he received a standing ovation when Zé Ricardo called him out.

"I'm very excited to be back. It was a long and difficult period, I fought hard and needed a lot of patience. I had a lot of support from my family and the fans, who sent me many messages. I'm very grateful, from the bottom of my heart. Now I just want to work hard to get back into the swing of things and be able to give back. These fans are wonderful, this nation is the best fans in the world. I was very happy to hear them chanting my name, it motivates me to keep working hard to progress," the player added.

Flamengo returns to action next Saturday, facing Atlético-MG at 16 p.m. in the first round of the Brazilian Championship. The match will be played at Maracanã Stadium.
