Alongside doctors Franz Campos, Rafael Coelho and Márcio Tannure, head of Flamengo's department, the player gave a press conference at the clinic where he underwent surgery, in Barra da Tijuca, and celebrated the end of a difficult stage in his life.

"I received support from many people and I want to thank them. Moments like these make us change and evolve as people. I'm emerging from this battle stronger and very grateful. I thank God, who was with me in electing the most capable and best prepared people to get me through this situation. I'm very grateful to Flamengo and the doctors, who did an exceptional job. My wife, my son, my friends. To the fans who gave me strength every day. They helped me get through the most difficult time of my life," said the number 10.

Thinking about his next steps, Ederson plans to return to wearing the Sacred Mantle as soon as possible. "I'm very happy, having the blessing of a second life. I hope to be able to return to training and playing on the field soon; it's what I love most. My biggest goal now is to be able to return and bring joy to people. After everything that happened, that's reinforced," he said.

Dr. Franz Campos, one of those responsible for his treatment, commented on the athlete's recovery. "We're here to share excellent news. Today, Ederson is going home for treatment, having been discharged after a highly complex surgery. We've made it through our third battle and are celebrating its success. We're returning Ederson to Flamengo, and he'll have another three or four months until his return to the field. Our duty is done, but his recovery continues," he celebrated.

"Anyone who sees Ederson's face can't imagine the severity of the problem he's going through. It's a curable condition, but the condition he was in at the beginning shows the extent of the damage. It starts in the testicles, but it can get worse. He underwent extremely toxic chemotherapy to kill the cancer cells. Ederson is like this because he's a bull. This drug affects the entire body. Hemoglobin levels drop, blood levels drop. The lesion he presented wasn't small," the doctor explained.

Next Wednesday (13), Flamengo hosts Independiente at Maracanã, at 21:45 pm, for the second leg of the Conmebol South American final. Thinking about the match, Ederson sent his positive thoughts to his teammates. "I sincerely hope that the group can play a great game to win the title. I leave my message of support to the group and the fans," he concluded.
