Ederson on decisive week: "Let's take it step by step"

Midfielder wants to focus on the game against Confiança, for the Copa do Brasil, before the semi-final against Vasco, for the Carioca

After the victory over Bangu, last Sunday (17), which guaranteed Flamengo a place in the semi-final of the Campeonato Carioca, Rubro-Negro has two decisions ahead this week: the return game against Confiança, for the Copa do Brasil, and the semi-final against Vasco, for the State Championship.

Following the 2-1 win over Ceres in a training match at the George Helal Training Center, midfielder Ederson spoke to reporters in a press conference and stated that the team will focus on one game at a time. He also made himself available to Muricy Ramalho, discussed his performance so far this season, and praised his new teammate, forward Fernandinho.

Decisions in sight

We're all available. I hope to help the team on Wednesday and Sunday. We have a very crucial week ahead of us.

Fernandinho

We're all happy with the arrival of Fernandinho, a very skilled player. We got to know him a little better today (in the training match). He's skilled, he's a great player, and he'll help us a lot.

One step at a time

We're motivated for this game (against Vasco), but the most important thing is always the next one. Everything serves as motivation. In the last game against them (Vasco), we played very well, we were on the verge of winning, and they ended up scoring the goal in the end. With the games so close, it's hard not to think about the two decisions, but the important thing is to think step by step.

First leg against Confiança

We completely dominated the game there, had several chances, but the goal never came. They practically had the ball the entire game and scored. We'll need effort, but at the same time, composure. We have the potential to put in another great performance and have the concentration to score goals.

Ederson in 2016

I had to start the year doing some separate work. Since I returned to playing, we've had a long run of games every three days. I'm feeling good, and my goal is to keep playing and help the coach. I feel good in the second striker position, but when they need to rebuild the midfield, I feel good too.
