Cast waiting for offensive power

Players trust the board to reinforce the red-black attack for the rest of the Brasileirão

Flamengo players are questioned daily by the press about the state of the Flamengo attack. Following Adriano's departure and the uncertainty of whether they will be able to count on Vagner Love, the players know that Flamengo is monitoring the market for new forwards, in addition to relying on the youngsters who recently came up through the youth academy.

The 'victims' this time were Petkovic and Ronaldo Angelim, who gave a press conference on the morning of this Thursday (24.06). Asked if there was any concern in the squad about the situation of the red-black attack, the two denied it, but then said that they trust in Flamengo's performance off the field.

"I'm sure reinforcements will arrive. We don't know what the attack will look like, since Vagner Love's situation is uncertain. If he stays, we'll already have a strong striker, but I still trust the board to bring in more players to help. We already have other players here who came up through the youth academy and are gaining experience. Ideally, these signings would arrive to work with us soon, so we can gain a better understanding," said Angelim.

Petkovic agrees with his teammate and also emphasizes the confidence that everyone in the squad has in Flamengo's board.

"We don't know if we'll have Vagner Love, and even with him, we have 50% of our attack. We need more attackers, regardless of who they are. That's up to Zico and the coaching staff. They'll be signing players, and I know they're paying attention to that. We need to bring in one or two more attackers," Petkovic said, clarifying that the championship is long and there's still plenty of time to build cohesion and achieve top positions.

"The Brasileirão is a long championship and we need to have a strong squad. However, only seven games have been played. We have 30 more to go," he concluded.
