Flamengo's squad returned to training last Tuesday, after receiving a few days off due to the Brazilian Championship's suspension for the World Cup. During the week, physical training and physiological assessments were conducted to analyze the condition of each player in the squad, enabling the coaching staff to develop preseason planning. The vast majority of players passed the tests with flying colors.

Fitness coach Toninho Oliveira, who took over the position on the day of the squad's presentation, praised his predecessors and highlighted the squad's excellent conditioning. According to him, most of the red-and-blacks, despite the time off, returned in top form.

"The results of the evaluations were very good. The vast majority of the players performed very well. Even with the days off, they returned in good condition. One or two players are a little behind, while others are in excellent condition. Which is normal. Angelim, Michael, and Juan, for example, are doing very well. It's important to emphasize this and congratulate the professionals who previously worked here," he said.

Despite this, Toninho wants more. The red-and-black manager hopes to work hard next week at Ninho do Urubu, so the team can travel to Itu, where they will play the second part of the preseason in even better conditions.

"Next week, we'll also be doing some specific physical preparation work. On Monday and Tuesday mornings, as well as Wednesday and Thursday afternoons, we'll work hard to further improve these conditions. The group is doing well, but it can get even better, and that's our goal," he concluded.
