Flamengo's squad returned to training this Tuesday afternoon at Gávea Stadium. With their sights set on their next Brazilian Championship match against Botafogo at Engenhão Stadium on Sunday, the Flamengo squad trained both physically and technically.

The players who started the match against Palmeiras didn't train with the ball and only did physical exercises on the field and in the gym. The rest of the squad trained technically in a two-touch exercise on a reduced-size field.

Álvaro, who is recovering from pain in his right knee, has been doing strength training and physical therapy at the gym. According to midfielder Walter Martins, the defender has significantly improved from the pain and could be the new addition to the red-and-black squad for Sunday's derby. The number 14 will be re-evaluated this Wednesday morning during training at the training center.

After today's physical activity, attacking midfielder Zé Roberto spoke about his expectations for the duel at Engenhão.

"It's an important game, like all the others. We're aiming to reach the top four, and our next opponent is Botafogo. It'll be a tough game; they need a win, and it's a classic. We're in good form, but we can't get carried away by the fans' hype. We have to stay calm and focused, because we have a very tough game ahead."
