Flamengo squad returns to Gávea
Rubro-negro began work for the next match in the Brazilian Championship, Thursday, against Atlético-MG, at Maracanã.
By Flamengo Archive - inAfter yesterday afternoon's historic victory over Santos at Vila Belmiro, Flamengo's squad returned to training this Monday afternoon at Gávea. Flamengo began preparing for their next Brazilian Championship match on Thursday against league leaders Atlético-MG at Maracanã.
The players who started yesterday's match only did physical exercises in the club's gym. The rest of the squad worked on their technical skills on the field. Andrade divided the squad into two teams, which faced each other on a reduced-size field. Immediately afterward, they began a grueling workout involving finishing and crossing.
The club's new signing, defender David, trained physically in the gym and on the field. Juan only ran laps around the field.
After the activity, the vice president of football, Marcos Braz, stated that negotiations for the hiring of Fla's new coach continue.
"I'm considering several coaches. There are inquiries, but most of them are from people calling me. I've already approached some of them, but I prefer not to reveal their names so as not to weaken the negotiations. Nothing has been agreed with Sérgio Guedes, just like anyone else. The result against Santos didn't change our plans at all. Andrade was already expected to stay against Atlético-MG, and he's staying."
