On Thursday morning (27), the Mais Querido's penultimate training session took place to prepare for the match against Atlético-MG in the 33rd round of the Brazilian Championship. During the activity, Zé Ricardo led tactical work focused on the opponent's style of play. The coach gave his players plenty of guidance regarding the style of play of their opponent next Saturday (29), analyzing their strengths and defining the red-black team's action plan for the match. The quest to improve the team's collective performance was a constant throughout the activity, especially with adjustments to the compactness of the lines.
Set pieces were also practiced during the session. During the second half of the session, there were several stoppages to practice this fundamental, both for corners and free kicks close to the penalty area. Finally, Guerrero, Diego, and Rafael Vaz practiced direct shots at the goal defended by goalkeepers Thiago and João Lopes, who alternated between the posts.
This Friday (28), Flamengo will have its last training session in Rio de Janeiro before traveling to Belo Horizonte, where it will face the Minas Gerais team. The match will be played at Mineirão, with the ball rolling from 16:30 pm.
