Activities this Friday (21) began early in another day of hard work at CT George Helal. Following the schedule, the players underwent body composition assessments, CK exams and thermography before physical training in the gym. On the field, coach Jorge Jesus promoted another intense day, where he demanded a lot from the athletes and carried out tactical training with the team during both periods.

In an interview with the Official Website and FlaTV, Marcio Tannure, head of the Medical Department, and Thiago Monteiro, the club's nutritionist, spoke about the importance of these assessments for the continuation of work in the preseason.

"We're conducting a biochemical evaluation here at Flamengo, not only of muscle fatigue but also of recovery. We collect blood samples to determine if the player has suffered increased fatigue, the onset of an injury, and then also to determine how the athlete has recovered. In addition, we perform thermography, which uses images to see changes in the player's temperature and, together with CK, we can determine how fatigued the muscle is. With this, we adjust training based on the results of these evaluations," says Tannure.

"We performed the bioimpedance assessment this Friday and will also do it tomorrow and Monday. We were able to assess the athlete's body fat percentage, muscle mass, hydration, and also segmented muscle mass. From this, we know if there is a difference between segments, such as the right leg and the left leg. With this, we can correct this difference with the other areas so there is symmetry between the muscles," says Thiago Monteiro.

The red-black squad returns to work this Saturday morning (22), at Ninho do Urubu.
