The last challenge of the first phase of the Guanabara Cup ended with another red-black victory. On Sunday afternoon (19), Flamengo went to the Raulino de Oliveira stadium, in Volta Redonda, to face Madureira and secured the leadership of Group B, winning 4-0. The goals were scored by Diego, in the first half, Guerrero, Mancuello and Paquetá in the second half.

Seeking an advantage in the next stage of the State Championship, the Flamengo squad delivered another stellar performance for the fans in attendance. From the start of the match, Flamengo pressed Madureira but ran into their opponent's well-positioned defense. However, the "Mais Querido" dominated their opponent, earning an impressive 13 corners in just 21 minutes of play, demonstrating their complete dominance.

At the end of the first half, Madureira's Alex Moraes committed a heavy foul on Diego and received a second yellow card, leaving Flamengo with an extra man on the field. Soon after, Zé Ricardo's men capitalized on their numerical advantage. After battling for the ball at the edge of the box, Flamengo's number 35 played a one-two with Mancuello and fired home a stunning goal, opening the scoring in Volta Redonda.

In the second half, Flamengo continued to pressure Madureira, who sought to turn the score around with counterattacks. Then, in the 20th minute, Trauco found Guerrero free in attack and delivered a precise pass to the center forward, who made no mistake, taking the defender out of the way and unleashing a powerful shot for the second goal of the match.

After the goal, the number 9 was replaced by Felipe Vizeu, and the youngster from Ninho quickly justified Zé Ricardo's decision. On his first play, he ran down the left flank and found Mancuello inside the penalty area. The Argentine hit a beautiful shot that found the back of the net.

Before the final whistle, another youth player produced a brilliant move. A very alert Lucas Paquetá pounced on the Madureira goalkeeper's loose ball and fired a rare volley over the top, scoring Flamengo's fourth goal, his first as a professional.

In the next match, Flamengo turns its attention to the Primeira Liga Cup, as it faces Ceará next Wednesday (22), at 19:30 pm, at the Castelão stadium, in Fortaleza (CE). The match is valid for the 3rd round of Group B and Mais Querido is already classified with two wins in two games. In the semifinal of the Guanabara Cup, the red-black team faces the second-placed team in Group C, Vasco, on Sunday (26), at 18:30 pm.
