From the opening moments of the match, Zé ​​Ricardo's men dominated the attack. Plenty of movement from the midfielders, quick passing throughout the attacking zone, constant involvement from Paolo Guerrero, and an intensity worthy of a championship final created suffocating pressure on Macaé's defense.

Several chances were created during the first half. In one of them, after a good exchange of passes during a moment of relentless pressure, Diego was brought down by Aislan in the penalty area.
