By Romulo Paranhos - inIn a postponed game from the 35th round of the Brasileirão, Flamengo drew 1-1 with Sport on Friday night (3), at Arena de Pernambuco. Michael scored the only red-black goal in the match.
The game
In the first significant attack of the match, Flamengo nearly opened the scoring in the second minute. Vitinho made a great play down the right, got to the byline, and crossed perfectly for Michael. The striker was free, but deflected the ball wide. Sport was also attacking, leaving the game wide open. In the 6th minute, Hugo made a spectacular save from Hernanes' shot, preventing the Pernambuco team from scoring.
Sporting's Mais Querido responded in kind and nearly scored a stunning goal with Pedro, who unleashed a powerful shot from midfield that nearly caught Maíson off guard. The Sporting goalkeeper was ahead of the game, but managed to palm the ball away for a corner. In the 28th minute, Bruno Henrique fired a shot from outside the box, Maílson palmed it forward, and Michael fired wide.
After much persistence, Mengão opened the scoring in the 39th minute. Pedro played the pivot inside the box, beat his marker, and crossed to the far post. Michael arrived with a first-time shot into the goalkeeper's right corner: 1-0. Late in the first half, Pedro closed in on the far post and chested the ball down. Maílson managed to clear it off the line. Almost got Flamengo's second!
In the second half, the game remained quite open, with both teams attacking. In the 5th minute, Sport tied the score with a Gustavo Oliveira goal: 1-1. After conceding the equalizer, Michael was brought down by Hernanes inside the box. The referee was about to award a penalty, but consulted VAR and disallowed the goal.
In the final minutes, Pedro passed to Bruno Henrique on the left side of the box, and the number 27 controlled the ball with his left foot and struck hard. Rafael Thyere made the perfect save. Despite the intense play, both teams missed numerous opportunities, and the match ended in a draw.
