On Wednesday night (5), for the 32nd round of the Brasileirão, Flamengo went to Vila Belmiro and drew with São Paulo 2-2. Arrascaeta and Samuel Lino scored the goals for Flamengo in the match. It is worth noting that Mais Querido started losing, sought the turnaround, and with one less player in the final stretch, ended up taking the equalizer on the scoreboard. 

With the result, Filipe Luís' team reached 65 points, the same score as the leader Palmeiras, who still have a game to play in this round. On Sunday (9), Rubro-Negro will face Santos at Maracanã.

The game

The match started quite lively at Vila Belmiro, with Flamengo taking the initiative. But it was São Paulo who ended up opening the scoring in the second minute of play. The Flamengo defense got tangled up while playing out from the back, Erick Pulgar tried to make the clearance and the ball ended up at the feet of Luciano, who shot low into the left corner past Rossi: 1-0. 

The São Paulo team didn't even have time to celebrate the goal, as Flamengo reacted immediately. Arrascaeta received a pass in the area and was fouled by the defender. The referee, right on top of the play, awarded a penalty. The number 10 himself took the penalty, shooting hard into the goalkeeper's right corner and leveling the score in less than ten minutes: 1-1.

The match remained open, with both teams constantly looking to attack. When they lost possession, Flamengo pushed up the field and pressured their opponents to try and quickly regain control. As the minutes passed, Flamengo began to have more of the ball, exchanging passes to find spaces in the Fluminense defense. In the 33rd minute, Plata received the ball on the right side of the area, crossed to the middle, and Carrascal shot, but Sabino made the block and the ball went out for a corner. 

In stoppage time, Flamengo even managed to put the ball in the net again, but the referee signaled offside. In the play, Arrascaeta crossed perfectly for Samuel Lino to head into the goal, but the striker was offside. End of the first half with a draw. 

Flamengo almost managed to turn the game around early in the second half. Arboleda made a mistake playing the ball out, Carrascal stole it and passed to Arrascaeta. The Uruguayan shot low towards the left corner of the goal, but the ball went just wide of the post. Early on, Léo Pereira felt pain in his elbow and received treatment off the field. The defender returned shortly afterwards. 

With greater ball possession, the Flamengo team exchanged passes in the attacking field to try and outmaneuver Santos. After much persistence, Mengão achieved the turnaround in the 18th minute! Arrascaeta was released at speed, Arboleda made a partial interception, but the number 10 chased after the ball and prevented it from going out of play. Emerson Royal crossed perfectly for Samuel Lino to volley home from inside the six-yard box to put Flamengo ahead: 2-1. 

When play resumed, Flamengo suffered a setback. Plata committed a hard foul on Arboleda and received a straight red card, leaving the team with one less player for the remainder of the match. Immediately, coach Filipe Luís made three substitutions to reinforce the defensive system. Samuel Lino, Arrascaeta, and Carrascal were replaced by Ayrton Lucas, Luiz Araújo, and De La Cruz. 

At 34 minutes, São Paulo equalized again with Ferreira, who received the cross and finished into the net: 2-2. In the final minutes, Tricolor pressed for the winning goal, but Flamengo managed to defend and left the field with a draw. It's worth noting that, with one man less, the game, which had been favorable to the team from Gávea, completely changed its configuration and ended with the opponent dominating the action.
