In a game played in the sixth round of the Brasileirão, Flamengo went to Salvador and beat Bahia 3-2 on Saturday afternoon (13), at Arena Fonte Nova. Matheus França, Gabi and David Luiz scored the red-black goals. With the result, Mais Querido added nine points and moved up positions in the league table.

The game
The match began with both teams looking to attack. In the opening minutes, Bahia threatened Matheus Cunha's goal more. Flamengo tried to gain an attacking edge by exchanging passes. In the 22nd minute, Mengão opened the scoring at Arena Fonte Nova. Arrascaeta took a free kick into the box, David Luiz headed it in for Matheus França, who also headed it home to make it 1-0.

Three minutes later, Arrascaeta performed a disconcerting dribble past the defender and was pulled down inside the box. The referee, on the spot, awarded a penalty. Gabi stepped up to take the shot and, with his usual skill, simply displaced the goalkeeper to extend the red-and-black lead: 2-0.

At the start of the second half, Bahia scored the second goal with Ademir, after a free kick in the red-black area: 3-2. It is worth noting that coach Jorge Sampaoli immediately made five substitutions after the break.

After the goal, Bahia went all out in search of an equalizer and threatened the Flamengo penalty area. Flamengo, in turn, struggled to maintain possession and create attacking chances. In the 28th minute, Rezende received his second yellow card and was sent off.

Another player who left the field early was defender Kanu, who also received a second yellow card and was sent off after a dispute with Gabi. This left Bahia with two men down. In the 36th minute, Wesley crossed low and Ayrton Lucas headed it wide.

In the final minutes, the red-black team managed to hold onto the ball and value possession to leave the field with their third victory in the Brasileirão, their first away from home.
