Following the red-black goal, the team from Rio Grande do Sul grew in the match and managed the comeback, with goals from Eduardo Sasha and Vitinho.

In the first half, the Mais Querido dominated possession and created chances from the start, despite the match being very evenly matched in the 31st round of the Brazilian Championship. The first opportunity came in the 8th minute, with Diego's shot from outside the box that resulted in a save from Danilo Fernandes.

The red-and-black team had the ball more often throughout the first half, with the team from Rio Grande do Sul well-positioned defensively and creating danger on a few occasions, either cleared by the defense or blocked by Alex Muralha. At the referee's whistle, the players headed to the locker room with the score tied.

Mengão entered the second half with more momentum, with Diego involved in key plays for Zé Ricardo's men. Then, from a corner kick taken by the midfielder, Réver opened the scoring with a close-range header that went into the back of the net. Internacional improved their performance after the goal, creating the best chances throughout the second half. In the 35th minute, Valdívia unleashed a powerful shot from the edge of the box, and Muralha made a great save. However, Vitinho pounced on the rebound and scored the second goal for Internacional. Internacional fought hard for the equalizer until the end of the match, but were unsuccessful. The match ended 2-1 for the team from Rio Grande do Sul.

In the next round, Flamengo will return to its home in Rio de Janeiro. The match against Corinthians will mark the red-and-black team's return to Maracanã. The match will take place on Sunday (23), with the ball rolling from 17 pm. Mengão will once again count on the support of the Rio nation in a Brasileirão match.
