On Tuesday afternoon (09), Flamengo beat Resende 2-0 in a training match with two 40-minute halves held at Field 1 of CT George Helal, in Vargem Grande. Only the athletes who did not start last Saturday's match (06), which resulted in a 1-0 victory over Atlético-PR, participated in the activity. Other players did physical work at Flamengo's Performance Excellence Center (CEP FLA) and ball work at Field 2.

In the first half, the red-and-black team relied on midfielder Diego, who stepped up to the plate and put together some excellent plays in the center of the field. Leandro Damião and Donatti also played a part in this half, with the center forward scoring the opening goal with a beautiful volley from inside the penalty area in the final minutes of the first half.

The second goal of the match was scored by Emerson in the second half, taking a penalty kick from Lucas Paquetá, who won a fine exchange of passes on the left side of the attacking half. The number 11 struck with precision, beating the Resende goalkeeper. After scoring for the second time, Flamengo controlled the match and conceded few defensive mistakes. 

Among the recent reinforcements arriving at Mais Querido, only Argentine defender Donatti played, and he had a solid performance alongside youngster Léo Duarte. Right-back Rodinei played the entire match and has now fully recovered from his shoulder injury. Rafael Dumas and Thiago Ennes were tested at left back, one in each half.

The group that started the final match did physical training, first at CEP FLA and then on Field 2 of the training center. Later, they worked with the ball, focusing on passing and movement. Finally, the players trained on a reduced-size field. Captain Juan trained with the ball separately, still seeking to get back in top shape after an injury suffered in the Flamengo victory over Coritiba.

Flamengo returns to training this Wednesday morning, aiming for the match against Sport Clube do Recife, next Saturday (13). The match will be held at Arena Pernambuco, with the ball rolling from 16 pm.
