It's no secret that the Biggest Fanbase in the World fills stadiums across the country, living up to the song created by the Red-Black Nation itself, "wherever I am, I will be." And, according to a report by ESPN, published on the morning of this Thursday (30), the numbers from the ticket offices of the red-black home matches outside of Rio de Janeiro prove the size and scope of this passion.
Without the Maracanã stadium, closed for the Olympic Games, the club leverages its massive and passionate fan base spread across the country to host its games outside the state of Rio de Janeiro. If only the four matches played outside the state are counted, the team averaged 32.211 paying spectators, surpassing the numbers of Corinthians (30.750) and Palmeiras (30.481), the championship's top ticket-getting figures so far. Mengão also has the largest attendance in the Brasileirão so far: 54.665 people packed the Mané Garrincha stadium to watch Flamengo vs. Palmeiras.
The Most Beloved returns to the field on Sunday (3), against Corinthians, in São Paulo, at 16 pm, and once again counts on the strength of its fans. The opponent made 2.200 tickets available to the Nation: click here and see how to guarantee your place.
