On a night of records, Réver values the result and targets São Paulo
The red-black captain broke personal records with his two goals on the Island

By scoring last night (19), the defender achieved three milestones in one go: highest scoring defender in the history of the points-scoring league, highest scoring defender in the current edition and the highest score by a defender in Cartola FC in 2017.
Played in a points-based format since 2003, the Brasileirão had Antônio Carlos as the top scoring defender with 28 goals until yesterday, followed by Leonardo Silva, Índio, and Réver with 27. By connecting on Guerrero's assist, the captain equaled the record. With a stunning header following the match, he took over the all-time scoring record.
"I'm happy with the goals I've scored for Flamengo. When I left the field, I said that every player has goals, individual goals to achieve. I set a goal this year and I'm happy to be close, but I haven't achieved it yet. I've always set these goals in my career and I hope to achieve them, not only individually, but collectively, so that when we get to December, we'll all be happy," he highlighted.
Despite being strict with his own goals, Réver still took the top scorer spot among defenders in the current edition of the championship: with five goals, one more than Vitória's Kanu. To top it all off, the number 15 achieved the highest score of a defender in Cartola FC in 2017: 20.80 (two goals, one foul, three tackles, one misplaced pass, and one foul).
Now, the focus is the game against São Paulo, next Sunday (22), at 17 pm, at Pacaembu. A difficult match, against a team that is still fighting to escape the bottom of the table, as Réver highlighted.
"The Brazilian Championship is interesting for that reason. There comes a time when you can't choose a game, especially because the level is so high. It will be a tough game against São Paulo, but we have to go there and play a competitive game and get the three points. We'll go with a lot of determination in search of a positive result," he concluded.
