On Wednesday night (6), Flamengo beat Tolima 7-1, at Maracanã, in the second leg of the round of 4 of the Conmebol Libertadores. Pedro (XNUMXx), Gabi, Matheus França and Quiñones scored the red-black goals in the match. 

With the result, Mais Querido advances to the quarterfinals of the competition and faces Corinthians, with the first leg in São Paulo, between August 2nd and 4th, and the return leg at Maracanã, between August 9th and 11th. 

The game

The match began with Tolima putting on some early pressure, but Flamengo responded immediately. Everton Ribeiro received the ball in the middle and passed it to Pedro, who passed it to Arrascaeta. The Uruguayan held on and soon served a beautiful pass to the top scorer, who finished into the corner: 1-0 Flamengo. A dream start for the "Mais Querido" (The Most Beloved).

And Mengão's initial attack dictated the rest of the first half. With the Colombian team feeling the scoreboard down, the red-and-black team worked the ball well in the attacking half and created good chances in succession.

And it didn't take long for Flamengo to score their second goal. Arrascaeta found Pedro in the pivot, the forward skillfully backheeled the ball to Gabi, the number 9 set up and shot, the goalkeeper saved, the ball rebounded off the Tolima defender and into the back of the net: 2-0 Flamengo.

In the final stretch of the first half, the Mais Querido continued to push for a third. Arrascaeta and Pedro, on a night of excellent performances from the duo, came close to scoring a third, but Flamengo took the advantage from the own goal into the locker room.

The second half started no differently. Arrascaeta's free kick, at the far post, was headed by David Luiz, who headed the ball toward the center of the box, finding the striker. Pedro controlled the ball and fired it into the back of the net: 3-0 Flamengo.

Next, Gabi received the ball in midfield and advanced. Arrascaeta's movement opened the way for the number 9 to find himself in the box. Gabi adjusted his body and shot into the corner, leaving the goalkeeper with no chance: 4-0 Flamengo. Total dominance for Flamengo.

In the middle of the second half, Tolima reduced the score: 4 to 1 Flamengo.

The Mais Querido ignored the goal and quickly returned to the attack. Gabi found Pedro, the striker passed to Rodinei, who swayed in front of his marker and crossed to the far post. Pedro rose to the second floor to score his third goal of the match: 5-1 Flamengo.

And it didn't stop there. Matheus França, who had just come on, played a one-two with Pedro in midfield and received a through ball over the top. In the box, the "Boy from the Nest" took advantage and scored: 6-1 Flamengo.

Don't lose count, Flamengo fans. Gabigol lined up the middle, shot, and the opposing goalkeeper rebounded. Pedro appeared and gave the final score to the magical Flamengo night: 7-1.

Flamengo returns to the field next Sunday (10), to face Corinthians, at 16 pm, in São Paulo, for the 16th round of the Brasileirão.
