In a delayed game of the second round of the Brasileirão, Flamengo drew with Grêmio 2-2 on Tuesday night (23), in Porto Alegre-RS. Vitinho scored both goals for Mais Querido, both in the second half. Now, Mengão changes focus and adjusts the last details for the Libertadores final against Palmeiras, next Saturday (27), in Montevideo-URU.

The game
Flamengo started the match patiently moving the ball around, while Grêmio tried to press the defense. In the 15th minute, Gustavo Henrique cleared a ball almost on the line, denying the Rio Grande do Sul team a goal. The red-and-black team tried to attack but lacked the final pass. In the 39th minute, Rodinei made a good individual play, took the ball to the edge of the box, and struck hard, but the ball went up. With few scoring opportunities, the first half ended goalless.

Early in the second half, Mengão opened the scoring! With his first touch, Arrascaeta delivered a precise pass to Rodinei, who crossed into the box. Vitor Gabriel attempted a shot, but the ball fell to Vitinho, who slotted it past the goalkeeper: 1-0.

Shortly after Flamengo's goal, Jhonata Robert received a second yellow card and was sent off, leaving Grêmio with ten men. In the 21st minute, on a counterattack, João Gomes fed Kenedy on the left, who pulled the ball inside and unleashed a powerful shot that Gabriel saved brilliantly.

The Mais Querido scored the second in the 28th minute. Kenedy gained speed on the right, invaded the area and just passed to Vitinho, who controlled and hit with his left foot in the corner: 2-0. Two minutes later, Borja pulled one back for Grêmio: 2-1. In the 36th minute, Ferreira hit a placed shot into the left corner of Hugo's goal and tied the match for the tricolor gaúcho: 2-2.

Flamengo tried to apply pressure at the end in search of the winning goal, but the match ended in a draw.

Next appointment
Rubro-Negro returns to the field next Saturday (27) to face Palmeiras, at 17 pm (Brasília time), at the Centenário stadium, in Montevideo, in the grand final of the 2021 Libertadores.
