In his original position, Camacho hopes to shine
Supporter has been encouraged by Rogério to perform the same function as the base: creating plays

Itu (SP) - Coach Rogério Lourenço has already stated that he wants a player to share the playmaking responsibilities with Petkovic. The 38-year-old Serbian also emphasized the importance of a partner in the position. However, instead of seeking reinforcements, the red-and-blacks may have a homegrown option in the squad. It's 20-year-old Guilherme Camacho, who has been receiving considerable use from the coach.
A starter in the last rounds of the Brasileirão and in the first training sessions of the pre-season, the midfielder is considered a jewel of the club's youth teams and is being polished to establish himself in the professional ranks.
"Rogério asked me to play on the right, like I did against Goiás, which is the position I played in the youth academy. I've always played as a linking midfielder. I've even played further back, but my role is really to create," he explained.
With each training session like a game and each match like a decision, Camacho hopes to maintain his good form and gain a sequence of opportunities upon his return to the Brasileirão.
"There have been some changes in the squad, but we're working hard so that when we get to the game against Botafogo, we'll all be in good shape. We're having time to work, and now it's time to face each moment as a decision. I hope to live up to this opportunity that coach Rogério is giving me. I've been training as best as possible to stay in the starting lineup," he added.
Guilherme de Aguiar Camacho arrived at Gávea at the age of nine, coming from Madureira, and won important titles in the youth team, especially in the youth category, under the command of Rogério Lourenço. In a squad that included Diego Maurício, Fabrício, Galhardo and other players currently in the professional category, he won two Carioca Championships (2006 and 2007), two International Circuito das Águas Tournaments (2006 and 2007), as well as the Macaé Cup, the Brazilian championship for the category, in 2007.
