On Saturday night (25), Flamengo beat América-MG 3-0, at Maracanã, in a game valid for the 14th round of the Brasileirão. The red-black goals were scored by Gabi, Arrascaeta and Marinho. With the result, Mengão reached 18 points and sleeps in eighth place in the championship.

The game

The match started evenly, with Flamengo pressing hard. After the opening moments, the Mais Querido took control of the action and began to demonstrate its offensive prowess.

In the 14th minute, Pedro and Gabi exchanged passes in the box, but the referee had already signaled offside. In the 19th minute, Flamengo created a second threat. Rodinei went to the byline and crossed into the box, Arrascaeta set it up, and Andreas fired over the rebound. 

And it was on the right that the red-and-black team found the best chances. In the 25th minute, Rodinei tried a shot from midfield, and the ball went wide. Gabi then arrived twice. First, she shot from the edge of the box. The ball was deflected by the opposing defense and hit the crossbar. Then, her shot was saved.

In the closing stages of the first half, Flamengo opened the scoring! Santos sent Pedro forward, who received the ball, advanced, and found Gabi entering the box. The number 9 fired a first-time shot into the back of the net: 1-0 Flamengo.

Flamengo came out swinging after the break. Gabi had two chances to extend the lead, but was denied by the opposing goalkeeper. Rodinei attempted a lob, but the ball went over. Andreas then passed to Arrascaeta in the box; the Uruguayan received the ball and was brought down. The referee awarded the penalty. Gabi's shot went wide.

In the 19th minute, João Gomes sent a through ball to Pedro. The forward received the ball and shot with his left foot, the ball hitting the post and going out. Andreas also had a chance to extend the lead, but his shot was deflected and went wide.

Flamengo's persistence paid off. Arrascaeta found Pedro, who passed the ball back to Everton Ribeiro, who had just come on. The number 7 arrived in front of goal and passed it sideways to Arrascaeta, who tapped the ball into an empty net: 2-0 Flamengo.

During the second half, the opposing team attempted to reduce the score, but were stopped by Santos, who played a great game.

In the end, Thiago Maia received the ball in the box, lifted the ball, and attempted a spectacular bicycle kick, but the attempt was blocked by the outside of the net. Marinho then took a chance from outside the box and hit a beautiful shot into the corner: 3-0 Flamengo. Marinho's goal sealed the match.
