One of Flamengo's standout players in the victory over Atlético-PR, striker Emerson was full of praise for striker Adriano's debut last Sunday at the Maracanã. According to the Flamengo number 11, the Emperor's arrival in the team has made things easier for Flamengo's entire attack.

"Every player has their own characteristics. I enjoyed playing with Adriano. That was even our post-match commentary. Adriano's presence was what was missing, like that reference point. He's that; he does that job very well. With him, he facilitated the arrival of the midfielders, and the advancement of Léo and Juan. His introduction was very positive."

Emerson said he felt very comfortable playing as a second striker.

-"My entire career, I've played like I did in the last match. I went back to playing like I did at every other club I've been to. I really enjoyed the match I played, with Adriano more centrally and me moving forward. It was really good for me."

The player lamented Kleberson's absence for the upcoming Brazilian Championship matches, as the midfielder is on duty with the Brazilian National Team.

"Kleberson will definitely be missed, but we have other options to join the team. Kleberson has a strong touch, gets forward a lot, shoots from distance, and his shots always make things difficult for the goalkeeper."

Emerson praised the new reinforcement for the red-black team for the 2009 season, midfielder Petkovic.

-"I wished Pet luck, that he does what he always did when he was here and that he is happy with us. Well, with the quality he has, he can certainly help us a lot."
