Emerson Royal completes one year at Flamengo and continues his journey in Brazilian football.
After seven seasons in Europe, the right-back has made 46 appearances, scored one goal and provided six assists for Flamengo.
By Football Communication - inUpon finalizing his move to Flamengo on July 28, 2025, Emerson Royal ended a seven-year hiatus from playing in Brazil. During this period, the right-back played in Spain, England, and Italy. A year later, the number 22 has already made 46 appearances for Flamengo.
“This has been a unique experience. I am very happy for everything I have experienced here, for the achievements and also for the difficult moments, because it is through them that we grow. Flamengo has made me a better person and a better player,” said Emerson Royal.

During his seven years in Europe, he accumulated experience in different playing styles and reached the Brazilian National Team. For Brazil, he played ten matches and was part of the squad that participated in the 2021 Copa América.
His debut for Flamengo took place on July 31, 2025, against Atlético-MG, in a Copa do Brasil match. His first goal wearing the Flamengo jersey was a header in a 2-0 victory over Juventude in the 23rd round of the Brazilian Championship.
In his first season, the athlete played 19 matches and participated in the campaign that ended with the conquest of the CONMEBOL Libertadores. In addition to this achievement, Royal also has a Brazilian Championship, a Carioca Championship and three international trophies: FIFA Derby of the Americas, FIFA Challenger Cup and the Algarve Trophy.
In 2026, the number 22 shirt wearer increased his participation and has already taken the field on 27 occasions, providing five assists.
