Flamengo has finalized its second signing in this mid-year transfer window. Emerson Royal, a 26-year-old right-back who was previously with Milan in Italy, has signed a contract with the club until December 2028 and will further enhance the Flamengo squad in the Brazilian Championship, Copa do Brasil, and Libertadores. Born in São Paulo, Emerson came through the ranks of Ponte Preta's youth academy and caught the attention of European clubs during his time at Atlético-MG. He began his career on the Old Continent playing for Real Betis, playing 79 games, scoring five goals, and providing 10 assists. 

After a stint at Barcelona, ​​the full-back subsequently moved to Tottenham, where he made 101 appearances, scoring four goals and providing two assists. Last season, he played 26 matches for Milan, starting 22 of them.
