Sold to Al-Ain of the United Arab Emirates for R$4,3 million, striker Emerson was in Gávea this afternoon to say goodbye to his teammates and sign the termination of his contract with Flamengo. A very emotional Emerson said that the five months he spent at Flamengo were the best of his career and that he intends to return to Flamengo in 19 months.

"We have to separate feelings from professionalism. I love Flamengo, and I demonstrated that on and off the field. I made many friends, and these were the best five months of my career. The fans like me and understand my departure. No one can take away the affection I feel from the fans. But there's also the professional side. I have a family, just like everyone else here, and at 30, I never imagined receiving the offer that was made. If the decision were up to me alone, I wouldn't go. I would stay and end my career here. I thank Flamengo for opening its doors to a stranger and for fulfilling a lifelong dream of mine. I hope that in 19 months I can return and end my career here."
