Flamengo still managed to pick up points, even playing away from home, this Tuesday (September 28.09th), against Goiás. It wasn't the three points everyone wanted, but given the circumstances of the match, with the equalizing goal coming in the final minutes, the point earned at Serra Dourada was highly valued by the Flamengo players.
Midfielder Petkovic, who came off the bench to try and help the team bounce back in the second half, believes the result ended up being positive in a way.
"It wasn't how we expected it to be, but given the circumstances it was an important goal in the end, which gave us a good result," he said.
Renato, who was replaced by Petkovic, was not satisfied with the draw and stressed that Flamengo could even have won in the first half.
"We could have come away with the victory, but the draw was an important point. We could have gotten a result in the first half and we didn't manage it. The championship doesn't give you the chance to dwell on the past. The important thing is to think about the next game, which will be very important," he observed.
The Flamengo delegation returns to Rio de Janeiro on Wednesday afternoon (September 29.09th), trains on Thursday (September 30.09th) and faces Botafogo on Saturday (September 02.09nd) at Engenhão.
