The fatigue of some players and lack of rhythm of others may cause coach Rogério Lourenço to make changes to the Flamengo team for next Sunday's match (29.08), against Guarani, at the Brinco de Ouro da Princesa Stadium, in Campinas. Given the tough sequence of games the team has ahead, the coach will talk to the physical preparation and physiology team to evaluate who to select.
\
"It's likely that I'll let go of some players. The sequence is very \ exhausting. I'll have a conversation with Toninho and the physiology team, but we know that in the physical part, depending on the form you take, the player ends up having a decline. We'll analyze and see which athletes are in condition to endure well the 90 minutes for Sunday's game," he explained.
\
According to him, this is a price the team has to pay in these first few rounds of adaptation to the new team. With the arrival of reinforcements, the team is still going through a period of integration.
\
"The competitiveness of football implies this. With a player out of shape, we end up overloading the team. It's a price Flamengo is paying for the difficulty in signing players and the new philosophy of the board, which is absolutely correct, of not bringing in just any player. This is normal and the way to improve is to work," said the coach, who believes that Diogo's good debut is an example that the team can improve.
\
"Diogo ended up being an example, even for his physical condition. A player always has to take care of himself. Opportunities arise, and in football there's no more time for adaptation. He traveled the time difference between Greece and here, with a plane on his back, arrived here on Sunday, showed up on Monday, did a hard training session on Tuesday, a slightly lighter one on Wednesday, and played 80 minutes. He's going to be a huge help to Flamengo, and I see a very bright future for him. I think that was the great joy for the Flamengo fans today," he concluded.
