Playing at home, Flamengo's youth teams faced Mangueira last Sunday. The Fraldinha (U-09) team drew the match 3-3, while the Pre-Mirim (U-11) team won 5-1. The Mirim (U-13) team won 3-2. Flamengo's opponent in the next and final round of this first stage of the Carioca Futsal Championship will be Vasco da Gama, at São Januário.
The Flamengo girls faced the Montanha team, away from home, and won 5-4. With the result, Flamengo remained in third place, but only two points behind the leader, Canto do Rio, their next opponent.
The Infantil (U15) and Infanto (U17) teams played the final round of the first phase away from home, against Vasco. The U15 team won 4-2, with Luis Felipe scoring three goals. With this result, the category finishes the first phase in second place and faces Portuguesa in the quarterfinals.
The under-17 category lost to the same Vasco by 2 to 1, but is classified for the next phase (quarter-finals) and also faces the Portuguesa team.
The Youth team, which is already playing in the Championship quarterfinals, faced Portuguesa away from home and drew 5-5. The return match will be in Gávea, next Saturday.
Playing in Gávea against Piedade, the CRF senior team entered the court needing a win to take the lead, but could only secure a 4-4 draw. Until ten minutes into the second half, Flamengo was leading the match 4-1, but eventually conceded the equalizer to Piedade. The red-and-black team had Diego Panazio sent off, but still had chances to win with a ten-meter shot in the final three seconds of the game, which ended up at the feet of the Piedade goalkeeper.
With this result, Flamengo remains in second place, with three rounds remaining until the end of the first phase of the Championship.
