This is Flamengo's starting lineup for Sunday's friendly (January 09.01) against Londrina, at 16 p.m., at Estádio do Café. In the first preseason training session in Londrina, coach Vanderlei Luxemburgo surprised by including young Vander, who arrived from Bahia, and Wanderley, who arrived on Friday (January 07.01), in the starting lineup. Besides them, there are two other new faces: Felipe and Egídio.
After completing physical training in the morning in the gym and on the field, the red-and-black players competed in a match in the afternoon. This was the first time the team actually worked on a full game situation. Previously, the group only performed physical training, a finishing drill and a possession drill, known as the German drill.
Besides the new faces in the starting lineup, another highlight: the reserve team was largely assembled with players brought up through the club's youth academy. Only four (Rodrigo Alvim, Jean, Ronaldo Angelim, and Fierro) are more experienced. The lineup for this team was: Paulo Victor, Digão, Jean, Ronaldo Angelim, and Rodrigo Alvim; Muralha, João Vitor, Fierro, and Adryan; Negueba and Romário.
This Sunday, Flamengo and Londrina will face off, with live coverage on Esporte Interativo (36 UHF). Flamengo's official website will also provide a link for fans who want to watch the match.
