Gávea Stadium hosts the Zico Cup finals

The competition included the under-11, under-13, under-15 and under-17 categories.

Last Tuesday (14), the José Bastos Padilha stadium, at Flamengo's headquarters in Gávea, once again hosted the finals of the Zico Cup, the biggest amateur football competition in the country. Since 2008, the competition has existed with the aim of giving opportunities to new talents and integrating young people passionate about the Breton sport.

In this year's edition, which took place from June 4th to 14th, the champions were Sogima, in the under-11 category, União, in the under-13 category, Boavista, in the under-15 category, and Craques da Vida, in the under-17 category. Gilberto, former athlete of Centro de Futebol Zico (CFZ) and now a Fiorentina full-back, and Galinho de Quintino himself presented the medals and awards to the boys.

The Zico Cup is open to teams from condominiums, social projects, communities, schools, and any team that follows the tournament rules. Click here to learn more.
