In the match against Vasco da Gama last Saturday (28), the starting defensive duo of Juan and Rhodolfo had a standout performance. Juan, highly praised for his class in the matches, contested 4 balls against the opponents and won 14 times. Rhodolfo, on the other hand, was even more accurate, winning 11 of the 12 ball disputes he had with Vasco players. While Juan played all the actions in the defensive half, the veteran defender ventured into the attack, making three tackles in the opponent's half. Combined, the two reached an impressive 13 interceptions and ball recoveries during the match.

The positive numbers aren't limited to the defenders. In the same match, midfielder Márcio Araújo successfully completed all four of his attempted tackles. The number 8 had a 64% success rate in his defensive challenges. His teammate, Willian Arão, also demonstrated his importance in the team's recovery: against Vasco, out of a total of six challenges, he won four. Despite his greater offensive involvement, Arão had seven interceptions and two ball recoveries in the match. Araújo had ten interceptions and 11 recoveries.
