Experiencing a hangover, but a good one, Flamengo fans were able to see, in less than 24 hours, two great players wearing the sacred jersey for the first time. After Ronaldinho Gaúcho, last Wednesday (January 12.01th), it was Thiago Neves' turn to be announced as a player for the club, this Thursday (January 13.01th), in the main hall of Gávea.
Received with applause and high expectations, the player, who came from the Arab world, thanked everyone for the affection he received at the club and on the streets of Rio de Janeiro in recent days.
"I confess I'm nervous. I watched Ronaldinho's entire presentation yesterday (Wednesday) on TV. I arrived at the club early this morning and felt a thrill from the reception. It's different, spectacular, to wear this shirt. I'm still in shock, but it will pass soon. The fans might be a little skeptical at first, but I'll give my answer on the field. I ask for a little patience. I'm used to pressure and I know I'll have it here at Flamengo," said Thiago Neves, already in his uniform.
Without hiding her happiness, Flamengo's president, Patricia Amorim, became the spokesperson for the fans, revealing what she expects from the star player and for the club's year.
"It's been a long time since Flamengo announced two players of this caliber in less than 24 hours. It's a great satisfaction to be a part of all this. I thank everyone involved who made the arrival of these reinforcements possible. Now, it's time to work hard so that the achievements come. I wanted to tell the fans that all this is for them. It's for the Flamengo supporters that we work. After all, they are the ones who fuel this passion. They are the ones who keep Flamengo alive," said the director, explaining that the jersey suited Thiago Neves well.

Regarding the year ahead, Thiago Neves has already outlined his goals: to win with Flamengo and, if all goes well, to return to the national team.
"My desire is this: to win titles with Flamengo and to wear the Brazilian national team jersey again. I need to prove that I'm capable of doing that. The national team will be a consequence of my work at Flamengo."
