The youth futsal teams of the red-black team debuted with a victory in the 2008 State Futsal Championship, after winning their three matches against the Portuguesa teams, in away games.
The under-09s, current Rio champions, won 13-1, the under-11s 5-2, and the under-13s 6-2. Flamengo's next opponent in the category will be Uncle Sam's team, from Niterói, in Gávea.
The under-15 and under-17 teams debuted with defeats, losing both games to Pentágono. The under-7 and under-4 teams lost 8-3 in the junior category, and the under-5 team lost XNUMX-XNUMX in the junior category. Their next opponent will be Combinado XNUMX de Julho.
The adult team, which debuts next Friday (15/8) against the Drogaria do Povo team, in Cabo Frio, continues training hard to maintain the good results it has been obtaining in the championships.
In preparation for the opening match, coach Cid Escarlate's team will train two days this week on a larger court, adapting their game plan to the conditions of the Cabo Frio gymnasium. Flamengo's opening match will be at 20 p.m. at the Cabo Frio Multi-Sports Gymnasium.
