Betting on maintaining the structure of the team that had two good performances in the last rounds of the Brazilian Championship, Flamengo takes to the field this Sunday, at 16 pm, at Ilha do Retiro, to face Sport.

Coach Ney Franco, satisfied with the team's performances against Goiás and Botafogo, maintains the 3-5-2 formation and believes the team will return to performing well.

This Saturday, the Flamengo delegation arrived in Recife shortly after noon. In the afternoon, the team held a recreational training session at Estádio dos Aflitos. As soon as the activity ended, heavy rain began to fall in the capital of Pernambuco. However, the training session was not affected.

"We played two good games against Botafogo and Goiás. We have a team structure that has been the same since the beginning of the year. Just look at the lineups. The team has been performing well with this formation, and there's no reason to change it for this game," says coach Ney Franco.

Although he recognizes the difficulty of facing Sport in their stadium, the coach wants Flamengo to think about winning.

"The idea is always to play offensively, looking for the goal and trying to win. We know that facing Sport at Ilha do Retiro is always very difficult, whatever the circumstances. Even more so now that their team has suffered two consecutive losses and needs to bounce back," said Ney.

Regarding the controversy fueled in Recife involving the 1987 Brazilian Championship, Ney Franco guarantees that the rivalry will not change the red-black spirit.

"I don't think it affects the game. Our team is focused on playing and we don't even talk about it."
