At the George Helal Training Center and other areas of Clube de Regatas do Flamengo, everyone plays a vital role in the day-to-day running of the club. Among the coaching staff, athletes, and other staff, there are those who, in addition to contributing labor and ideas, also take the opportunity to gain knowledge. This is the case with the interns, who help with the day-to-day running of Flamengo's football team.

This Tuesday (August 18.08), the eve of the Copa do Brasil derby, is Intern Day. Diego Veras is one of these students who take advantage of the experience of Flamengo's professionals to learn a little more about the academic field and enrich his resume. Studying in his penultimate year of Nutrition at Veiga de Almeida University, the 25-year-old values the opportunity he has been given.

"It will be a great addition to my life, as it's the biggest club in Brazil. Being able to work with nutritionists Léo Acro and Silvia Ferreira is a pleasure. I know they will teach me a lot about the profession in the sports field. They are great teachers for me; they welcomed me very warmly, and I learn from them every day," he assured.

Diego is thrilled to be interning at his "favorite club." He's been at Flamengo since March, and he knows everyone at the training center and feels right at home. In this second home, he emphasizes what he enjoys most and doesn't hide his pleasure in participating in the preparation, feeding, and recovery of those he's always cheered on from the stands.

"I enjoy working with the players and the coaching staff, finding out what they need and how I can help them on a daily basis to improve their performance. It's a dream to be here. It's really cool," he celebrated.
