Flamengo left the Mané Garrincha stadium with another victory in the Brazilian Championship and maintained its sole lead in the competition with 23 points. By beating Fluminense tonight, the "Mais Querido" (Most Beloved) achieved its fourth consecutive triumph. After the match, midfielder Everton Ribeiro commented on Flamengo's superiority in the game.

“An important victory, our team knew how to behave, we didn't give them any chances, Diego didn't have much to do. We're improving, but we have to keep our feet on the ground and work game by game. Regardless of who's on the field, Flamengo is doing its best so we always come out victorious.”

The number 7 shirt was one of the highlights of the match alongside Paquetá, and a one-two between the two led to Vizeu's goal, which sealed the victory for Flamengo. Ribeiro spoke about the way the team has been playing under interim coach Mauricio Barbieri. 

"We try to create space, most teams come to play defensively against us, and with creativity and determination we try to create plays up front. Thank God and thanks to the coach's work, which is having an effect, we are managing to score the goals to win."

For the second game in a row, Vizeu came off the bench to seal the victory for Flamengo. The young striker celebrated the win and another decisive goal.

"It's very important to help the team with goals, but the most important thing is to come away with the victory, especially in a derby. We knew how difficult the opponent would be." 

Flamengo returns to the field next Sunday (10) to face Paraná, at Maracanã, for the 11th round of the Brazilian Championship.
