Playing away from home, the "Mais Querido" (the most beloved team) capitalized on the spaces left by their opponent and managed to return to Rio de Janeiro with three points. Flamengo relied on a goal from Everton Ribeiro to defeat the Minas Gerais team 1-0 at Independência Stadium.
