Everton Ribeiro is one of Flamengo's key players this season. Having played in 29 out of 32 matches in the 2018 Brazilian Championship, he started in all of them, averaging 83 minutes per game. In addition, he has eight goals and six assists.

The third player in the squad with the most minutes on the field, totaling 4.434 in 2018, spoke exclusively to FlaTV about his physical training at Flamengo. "We know that the Brasileirão is very competitive and has many games. A lack of good preparation can end up weighing on you at some point. This year was different; we had a good pre-season and worked together with the team from the beginning. This has helped a lot so far. I have a good track record of not suffering injuries. This comes a lot from the daily preparation, taking care of myself, and maintaining my fitness," said Everton Ribeiro.

"Pre-season training is very important, especially for players who are starting to readjust to Brazilian football, as is the case with Everton. This activity was carried out with the professionals from CEP and is an important follow-up during the season, weekly and daily," said Diogo Linhares, Flamengo's fitness coach.

Besides discussing the entire process of getting in shape for the final stretch of the competition, Everton Ribeiro also spoke about the fans' relationship with his family. "It's great. Sometimes I'm on the field after the game, Augusto comes onto the field with me, and Marília (Nery, his wife) says that they shout that he's there, they say hi. The fans already know us, they have a special affection for us. This makes me even more eager to go onto the field to give them this joy," he exclaimed.
