Coming off an important victory in the Brazilian Championship, Flamengo returned to training on Friday afternoon (16) and already trained in preparation for the game against Sport, which will take place next Sunday (18), at 17 pm, in Recife. After the activity that took place at Ninho do Urubu, Mais Querido already traveled to the Northeast.
After training, midfielder Everton Ribeiro gave a press conference at the training center and discussed the upcoming match against the Pernambuco team.
- It's a tough game. It ends up being an important game for us; we need to get points. It's going to be complicated, but we know our capabilities. By playing well there, we can come back with a victory. They're a team looking to climb out of the bottom of the table, with great, experienced players. We have to be focused from the first minute to come back happy with the win.
The number 7 player spoke about the gap to the league leader and highlighted the importance of winning the remaining games.
“It’s a considerable distance. But we believe until the very end. We want to keep winning and close the gap to the leader. We have to do our best to keep chasing them while we still have a chance, and we can’t give up.”
Everton Ribeiro is one of the players who has played the most this season wearing the sacred jersey and spoke about the fatigue that athletes feel at the end of the year.
