Sunday (14) was truly special for Flamengo fans who had the opportunity to watch 'Flamengo Brahma Live' live from the Maracanã. Idols of the past and present came face to face in a very relaxed chat, marked by plenty of emotion and nostalgia. Flamengo captain Everton Ribeiro 'played one-on-one' with idols from the club's history who have already hung up their boots: Zico (via video), Juan and Petkovic.

In the conversation, Mengão's number 7 recalled the emotion of having watched a video in which he was highly praised by Galinho, the Mais Querido's biggest idol.

"I was at home during this quarantine and saw a video of Zico praising me. When I looked back, my whole family was crying. Experiencing the emotion of lifting the Copa Libertadores Cup, which Zico also lifted, is truly moving. The trophy is heavier than me (laughs)," said Everton Ribeiro.

Scorer of 334 goals at Maracanã, Zico heaped praise on the current number 7 for the red-black team.

"Regarding Everton, it's not because he's at Flamengo, but I've been saying he's an excellent player for some time. I think he was one of the biggest losers, not having participated in the 2014 World Cup. He had already been named Brazil's best player twice. I really don't understand why he wasn't called up for the World Cup. And at Flamengo, he just came to confirm the beautiful football he played. Today, I consider Everton the best player at Flamengo," said the Galinho.

Now playing an important role off the pitch, former defender Juan highlighted the importance of the team having three captains.

"First of all, Flamengo has several leaders, and this makes the team very strong. The three mentioned (Diego Ribas, Diego Alves, and Everton Ribeiro) exercise this leadership, each contributing their own contribution to the club. I think they are synonymous with the recent years when Flamengo was trying to win important titles and was failing. All of them have been with the club for three years or more, and last year, they were able to actively participate in that historic campaign. We have to congratulate all three of them," Juan praised.

Another idol who made history at the club, Petkovic also recalled his most memorable goals at the Maracanã Stadium wearing the Sacred Mantle. Among them, he highlighted as unforgettable the free kick goal against Vasco in the third Rio de Janeiro championship in 2001, scored in the 43rd minute of the second half.
