Éverton Silva celebrates his good debut
The right-back was one of Flamengo's standout players in the 2-2 draw with Boavista.
By Flamengo Archive - inOne of Flamengo's new signings for the 2009 season, right-back Éverton Silva had a fine performance in the 2-2 draw with Boavista last night at Maracanã. Showing plenty of personality, the player didn't feel the weight of the jersey in his debut for the Gávea team.
"Thank God everything went well. Cuca gave me a lot of peace of mind before the match, and I was able to respond. I also had the support of my teammates, who helped me a lot during the game. We didn't win, which was the most important thing, but I was able to celebrate my debut at Maracanã in front of the fans. It was a great joy. I fulfilled my dream and that of my entire family. Everyone at home supports Flamengo, and my father was very happy to see me playing for his beloved club."
Éverton Silva made a point of praising the starting right-back, number 2 Léo Moura.
"Léo Moura is a great player. I have a lot of respect for him and know he's a starter. He's a player at the level of the Brazilian national team. He praised me after the game, and I was very happy."
