The game against Guarani was exciting and very balanced. The expectation is that the duel with Cruzeiro will not be much different. That's how the Flamengo players think, who will face the Minas Gerais team on Sunday (November 28.11th) at 17 pm in Volta Redonda. Facing an opponent fighting for the Brazilian title, the team from Gávea knows they will have to work hard to achieve a victory.
Midfielder Renato believes that, even so, it's possible to achieve a positive result. They just need to stay focused on the objective and repeat last weekend's performance, showing great determination and striving for victory.
"We expect a good performance, like we did against Guarani and Ceará. The effort against Guarani serves as an example. The team played focused and engaged. That's what I expect against Cruzeiro: a determined team, concentrated on the game. If we repeat that, we'll have a good result," said the midfielder, who sees Cruzeiro as a team that will also go out to play in Volta Redonda.
"It's going to be good. They're an opponent that won't wait for our team to come out. They're fighting for their objective. It's going to be an open game, the teams will work well together, so whoever makes fewer mistakes or is more focused will get the result," he explained.
Renato believes that Flamengo's final stretch in the Brazilian Championship is not easy and offers a brief analysis of the matches against Cruzeiro and Santos. According to him, the tasks are difficult, but the team from Gávea can play on equal terms with anyone.
"We have the quality to play on equal terms with any team. Theoretically, Santos is more relaxed, but they are also a quality team. Now our focus is on the first game, against Cruzeiro, which is a strong team and has been fighting for the title. We lost in the first round, but now it will be different," he concluded.
